Kokori is a Post-Cyberpunk Industrial duo from Portugal, created in 2009, and that has been releasing some EPs and a single, between participating in several compilations. They’re into techno-religious aesthetics (as can be seen even by the names of their releases) and themes. They’ve been released on vinyl, cassette, CD and digital formats, and have now a solid corpus of material that they have been re-arranging to form a conceptual album.
When I was sent the demo (containing ‘Inbrase’ & ‘The Stars …’) I needed to hear more. What I received was a dense soundscape of bleak isolationism from a nearby post-apocalyptic world. Sonority-wise, they tend to consider voice as ‘just yet another instrument,’ and lyrics – when present – come in various formats – from actual singing to the use of various samples and voice synthesis. About half of their tracks are instrumental.

Artapes heartily recommends this album. It will see the light of day on Monday 18th 2016 – advance orders are now being taken.
